in hagerstown. the moisture is going to be a big story. you can see over the 65 degree mark into baltimore right now. you know we are feeling very soupy out there. but hopfully going throughout the day, they will go down a little bit. but still going to be a little on the muggy side. right now culpepper is at 72 for a dew point. so as we look at the air quality alert, we do have this in effect for today. but everybody is not so great especially as we head into most parts of maryland. but as we head over to the eastern shore, that's where you are out of the air quality alert. if you have lung disease, limit your exposure to outdoors for today. especially the outdoor activities. satellite and radar not picking up on a lot. a few showers and storms, but mainly to the south of baltimore around the dc area. that's basically out of here. as we go through time, there's a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm to pop in the forecast. isolated in nature and it -- pop up in the forecast. isolated in nature. hopefully that will start to build in going throughout the day. going into wednesday, we will h

this video. parts of new orleans is drying out this morning. severe weather caused flooding in the big easy. up to 7 inches of rain fell in a matter of a few hours swamping the drainage system there and cutting power to thousands of people. you can see how communities there and commuters had to navigate the streets. some homes suffered damage. i know we need rain there but you see that and not that much. >> 7 inches in a couple hours justin? that's got to be close to a record. that's huge. >> that's too much. that's too much for something we can handle here with our drainage system. new orleans drainage system can handle 1 to 2 inches per hour. and overtaking their capacity. and as far as capacity for rain, we have been watching this tropical system form over the bahamas yesterday. at least the night before and work its way into the open atlantic. 200 miles north of the island we are looking at this roll up into the atlantic. it is going to work towards bermuda. wind down to 50 miles per hour to the north, northeast it moves at 6 miles per hour. and you can see it parallelling the coastline
